Untappd for Business (UfB) is the default menu tool for many breweries, mostly because of the Untappd beer database and app audience. Common reasons breweries look elsewhere: price increases, Fire TV-only screens, branding locked to the Premium tier, and QR codes that send guests to a public Untappd page. This guide compares the main alternatives as of November 8, 2026. We make one of them (BreweryTV), so we've linked every price to its source; check them yourself.
The short version

|---|---|---|
| Untappd for Business | Essentials $89.99/mo or $899/yr; Premium $119.99/mo or $1,199/yr (widely reported; not published on Untappd's site) | Untappd check-ins and ratings matter to your guests |
| BreweryTV | $0 for 1 screen; $15/screen/mo after ($12 annual) | You want branding, any TV, keg tracking and low cost at 1–5 screens |
| Taplist.io | Starter $39/mo (1 TV); Pro $59/mo unlimited TVs | You need POS sync today, or have many screens |
| BeerMenus | Digital Beer Boards $99/mo ($58.25/mo annual) | You also want BeerMenus' consumer listing and email promotion |

Untappd for Business
Strengths: the largest beer database (items auto-fill style, ABV and labels), the Untappd app audience, Toast and Square integrations, events, menus on TV, web, QR and print.
Trade-offs: pricing isn't published and requires a demo; it has risen over time. TV boards run on Fire TV and the Amazon Signage Stick. Board branding (logo, colors, fonts), bulk upload and the API are Premium features. Essentials caps non-beer items. Your beers live in Untappd's public database. Sources: Untappd help center, price history reported by BeerMenus (a competitor).
BreweryTV (us)
Strengths: first screen free forever, then $15/screen/month; web menu, QR codes and print PDFs included; full branding on every plan; runs on Fire TV, Android/Google TV, Roku, LG/Samsung browsers, Raspberry Pi and any browser; keg tracking with an on-deck queue; imports from UfB by API token, Menu History export or menu link; no ads on guest menus.
Trade-offs: new product. No Untappd database or ratings: you type in guest beers (once). POS sync (Toast, Square) and Kegtron keg monitors are coming soon, not live. Website embed is coming soon.
Taplist.io
Strengths: mature product focused on beverage menus. Pro ($59/mo, $49/mo annual) includes unlimited TVs, POS sync (Square, Toast, Clover and others), print menus, and Kegtron Pro integration. Published pricing. Source: taplist.io/pricing.
Trade-offs: Starter ($39/mo) covers one TV; print and POS need Pro. For one or two screens it costs more than BreweryTV; at six or more screens in one location, Pro's flat price is cheaper than per-screen pricing.
BeerMenus
Strengths: long-running consumer beer-finder site, so your menu reaches people searching BeerMenus. Plans add email/push promotion, website menus, print menus and, at the top tier, digital beer boards. Published pricing with a free trial. Source: beermenus.com/pricing.
Trade-offs: TV boards are only on the top tier, $99/mo or $58.25/mo billed annually. Multi-location pricing goes through a sales call.
Pourwall
Strengths: very low cost. Free for one screen; Premium is $30/mo (or $290/yr) per location with unlimited screens, QR menus, print, on-deck and website embed. Runs on Google TV, Android TV, Fire TV and Chromecast. Source: pourwall.com/pricing.
Trade-offs: compare themes and branding options, Roku/smart-TV support and POS integrations against your needs; its pricing page doesn't list POS sync.
Generic digital signage
Tools like Yodeck or Raydiant run any content on any screen. They're great for promos and video, but a tap list becomes a slide you edit by hand, with no web menu, QR menu or print menu from the same data. Fine if you already pay for signage and rarely change taps.
How to choose
- Count your screens. Per-screen pricing wins at 1–5 screens; flat unlimited plans win with many screens at one location.
- Check your TVs. If you have Roku or smart TVs you'd like to use without sticks, confirm support.
- Decide if Untappd matters. If guests check in and you use ratings in marketing, staying on UfB may be worth it.
- POS sync today or later? If an 86 in Toast must update the board right now, choose a tool that has it today.
- Try before you cancel. Most tools have a trial or free tier. Run one screen side by side for a week.
